The #SERVETVI Projects: Kursaatélite

IES Kursaal in Algeciras presents the scientific project «Kursaatélite», with which they will take part in the #ServetVI launches in spring 2022.

Kursaatélite is a project by a group of 4th-year ESO students at IES Kursaal. The project is based on building a scientific station able to take certain measurements of the air during the ascent and/or descent to the stratosphere and to store or transmit that data, for which we will use a sounding balloon.

We will have sensors based on open-hardware and open-software Arduino technology to obtain information on height, temperature, humidity, pressure, etc., but above all we will try to make a precise measurement of the pollution of a place and find the proportion of pollution with respect to height using our suspended dust particle sensor.

Our station will also have a GPS that will tell us where the satellite is at all times, as well as sensors that will let it report its speed and its tilt from different points of view. It will be able to store information on a microSD card.
