Colegio Teresiano del Pilar in Zaragoza presents the scientific project “The Bacterium that Touched the Sky”, with which they will take part in the #ServetVI launches in spring 2022.

At Colegio Teresiano del Pilar we propose the project “The bacterium that touched the sky” and want to test two main ideas.
The first is to check how solar radiation and other factors of the ascent affect a bacterial culture, and how it grows on returning to the ground compared with an untouched one and another exposed to artificial UV rays.
The second part of the project aims to test the gas laws, so pressure, temperature and volume will be measured. To put these two experiments into practice, the capsule will be fitted out with the following elements:
- Arduino Nano (to measure pressure and temperature)
- Camera (used to scale the balloon and obtain its volume)
- Petri dish (bacterial culture)

The project team has a website where they will be posting updates on the progress of their experiment. You can also follow them on Instagram
