The #ServetX videos: Centro La Enseñanza (Logroño)

In this video the team from Centro La Enseñanza in Logroño tell us about the progress of their scientific project. The launch will take place in April.

About the experiment

The experiment to be carried out by our 3rd and 4th year ESO students in Physics and Chemistry, ICT and Biology will consist of the launch to the stratosphere of a Geiger sensor connected to an Arduino device that will store the data collected by the sensor.

The electronics will be powered by a LiPo battery. We decided not to include a camera, to lighten the capsule and thus have more electrical power capacity. The sensor used will be able to detect between 20 mR/h and 120 mR/h of gamma rays.

The data will be stored on a microSD card for later analysis. The aim is thus to investigate the presence of radioactive material and gamma and beta radiation in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
