IES Peñamayor in Nava, Asturias, presents the scientific project «A stratospheric culete» (a cider glass), with which they will take part in the #ServetVI launches in spring 2022.
The project “A stratospheric culete” will take several products from our region to the stratosphere to study how the physical conditions they will be subjected to there affect their properties. We will carry out chemical analyses before and after the mission of two typical Asturian products: cider (our drink par excellence) and raw milk. In addition, we will monitor the best-known physical variables (temperature, pressure, humidity…) and take photographs during the ascent.
Will we be able to see astronauts pouring cider the Asturian way or drinking milk on the Moon? Under what conditions must it be transported to leave our atmosphere in good condition? With our mission we aim to answer these questions.
The project team has a website where they will be posting updates on the progress of their experiment.
