They found that at -20ºC it does not work entirely correctly
The team has held several working meetings and is now in the probe-building phase
CPI Poeta Uxío Novoneyra in Folgoso do Courel, Lugo, presents the scientific project «Chove pra que eu soñe (It rains so that I may dream)», with which they will take part in the #ServetVI launches in spring 2022.
So far, we have mounted the sensors we want to use on an Arduino board. We tested how it works at low temperatures in the freezer. That is how we found that at -20ºC it does not work entirely correctly.
In various meetings we identified problems, looked for solutions, worked out weights (to avoid going over 300 g) and built the project website.
We also designed the layout of the materials: which materials need to be insulated; where to place sensors, battery, camera…
We are currently in the probe-building phase. As they explain to us, we are still in the process of design and construction. We are moving slowly but at a good pace, although a little more time would not hurt. For the moment we have not found any insurmountable difficulties, although the choice of cameras is still to be settled, and we have many tests ahead.
