About the experiment
The IES Candás explains its mission to us:
We set up this project to achieve several objectives, from the point of view of both scientific research and technological development:
1. Implement a system for analysing the health of crops from infrared image analysis, to help farmers obtain a higher and healthier yield, save on fertilisers and take better care of the environment.
2. Check the feasibility of a real-time radio communications system between the probe and the ground station.
3. Study atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity and their variation with altitude.
4. Go deeper into the study of the effect of stratospheric conditions on the germination capacity of some seeds, trying to tell apart the effects of ultraviolet radiation from other effects, such as the presence of ozone and the extreme conditions of pressure and temperature.
