The first #ServetV balloon launches to the stratosphere will take place on 29, 30 and 31 October. If you want your probe and your experiment to take a place on the balloons, here is how you can do it.
The Servet project is renewed and expanded in this coming school year, in which it will offer two launches of aerostatic balloons, between September 2021 (#ServetV, aimed at makers and aeronautics enthusiasts) and June 2022 (#ServetVI, aimed at schools that want to carry out their experiment).
In addition to the support of the Ibercivis Foundation, the I3A (Aragon Engineering Institute) and Zaragoza City Council through Etopia, this time we have the backing of FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology).
So, we are opening the call for proposals for the first round of launches, which will take place on the weekend of 29, 30 and 31 October 2021. Three balloons will be launched, each with room for up to three capsules with citizen science experiments.

Take part with your experiment: capsules weighing up to 400 g.
And that’s where you come in! if you are a maker enthusiast with interest and knowledge in astronautics, space navigation, IoT… You can send us your scientific experiment proposal and you will have one of the available spaces on the balloons to be launched to the stratosphere.
You only have to tell us your proposal through this form and wait for us to confirm your participation. To take part with your experiment, remember that the weight of the capsule housing it cannot exceed 400 g.
We from the project organisation will take care of everything else: the balloons, the helium, the logistics and organisation, publicising your proposals on social media… And above all, the insurance that covers all of us against any mishap, and the organisation of the launch on the appointed day.
Remember, the deadline to submit your capsule and experiment proposal is 29 August 2021. We await your ideas in the registration form.
Help us make everything go perfectly: take part in organising #ServetV – 0 g capsules.
If you are passionate about aeronautics but do not want to take part with your own probe, you can get involved in the project on the launch days by helping the organisers with logistics so that everything goes well. You will be able to lend a hand, learn and meet a group of space navigation enthusiasts who, like you, want the project to keep growing and its community to increase. Sign up through this form and take part in #ServetV.
If you are interested in the project and like the scientific disciplines it covers, you can join its community through its Telegram group https://t.me/sondaservet. Through it you will be able to keep up with the project’s news, resolve doubts and get more involved in its development. We look forward to seeing you!
The launch of Servet V will be on the morning of Saturday 30 October 2021 in a town near the city of Zaragoza. On Friday 29 the preparations will take place at the Etopia lab, and on Sunday 31 we will present the results to the general public. If you need accommodation for your stay in Zaragoza, let us know through the form.
