The #SERVETVI Projects: Chove pra que eu soñe (It rains so that I may dream)

CPI Poeta Uxío Novoneyra in Folgoso do Courel, Lugo, presents the scientific project “Chove pra que eu soñe (It rains so that I may dream)”, with which they will take part in the #ServetVI launches in spring 2022.

The #SERVETVI Projects: Chove pra que eu soñe (It rains so that I may dream)

Is the recovery of the ozone layer real?  Is there breathable oxygen in the stratosphere?  At that height, can we perceive the curvature of the horizon?  Is there any kind of life?  Is the wind stronger or weaker than at the surface?  What do the highest clouds look like?

Our students, seeking to answer these questions, propose an experiment using Arduino and free software tools, which we present here.

The opportunity the launch gives us would be greatly enriched if we could reproduce the experiment in different places around the world. That is why we will contact other schools to explore the possibility that, in at least one other place on the globe, at an equivalent latitude, they gather data we can compare with a similar experiment, taking the chance to bring different languages and cultures into contact and to take part in a richer scientific exchange at a global level.

The project team has a website where they will be posting updates on the progress of their experiment.
