The #SERVETVII projects: CRANGILANDER I

We present each of the citizen science experiments that will be taken to the stratosphere in the #SERVETVII launches, in autumn 2022. The #SERVETVII projects: CRANGILANDER I is an experiment by César Rangil.

I plan to carry out two missions. One purely scientific: measuring the Earth’s albedo in the launch area, and one scientific-technical: measuring the performance of some autorotor blades and its relation to the density of the atmosphere and to the probe’s ascent/descent speed.

The autorotor blades will be prototyped in PLA and attached to the shaft of a micromotor. The probe will have a rotation sensor (speed and direction of rotation), temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity and light sensors, GPS and a LoRa transceiver, as well as a video camera. All of it will be controlled by a Teensy 3.6 microcontroller.

If you want to know about all the citizen experiments and probes that will be launched in #SERVETVII, visit the selected proposals area.
